I'd like you to meet Lynn, my new best friend

Isn't she beautiful? She was a steal too.

Michael, my mom, and I went to an Estate sale on Saturday afternoon. It was the last 2 hours of the 3-day sale and we really just wanted to look inside the beautiful 4-story home. And then we saw the sign: "Industrial Sewing Machine available. Inquire at the front."

We couldn't pass up at least seeing it and with some convincing from my mom and Michael, we bought it. I've been looking on craigslist for awhile for one but haven't found one reliable AND affordable (let's be honest, my little Singer from Target just doesn't cut it with layers of upholstery fabrics and has driven me to tears and frustration many a nights).

I just couldn't pass her up. Especially after they agreed to to haul it down from the 3rd floor for us.
My favorite father-in-law came with his truck and with his help, the 4 of us were able to get it off the truck and into our house (just barely though!) on a wonderful 90-degree day in Milwaukee. (Thanks, Pat!)

I tried her out today. Figured out how to thread her, bought some additional oil for her, and practiced a little sewing. I'm just working on figuring out how to sew a tad bit slower. . . . .

Her max speed is 6,000 stitches per minute! So in case you're interested in starting a sweatshop in our office, let me know :)
