We were so close. SO close to finishing. We got to class, got started on the back piece of fabric (our ply grip was already in place from the previous week), finished that up, attached the accord on the bottom of the chair (to hide all our spring and webbing work) and then it was 8:30 and we still had 40 minutes of class to spare!
Two weeks ago I had made enough cording for the bottom of the chair so we were already set with that and now all we needed to do was attach it.
With the hot glue gun. . . . . . That another girl was using.
Of course there was only one. Ruined my night.
We left class 30 minutes early - she was going to be using it for the rest of the night and there was nothing left for us to work on! I'm not even going to show you photos of it because it will ruin my final reveal (and my guess is that you might not even tell the difference between this week and next week's photos).
We contemplated just taking the chair home and I could've easily finished it up last night with my own little glue gun. But then we felt bad and thought maybe our teacher's feelings would be hurt (you know, thanks for teaching us all semester but we'll just skip the last class and finish this on our own without your help . . . ).
So, next week. We'll clean the wood a bit, attach the piping and her new casters and she'll be ready to make a grand entrance on 53rd st.
