More than halfway there . . . .

Last week's class was a challenge. Just as I think I've completed the most challenging part of the chair (the staple removing, then the spring attachment, then the seat . . . ) I swear something harder comes along.
This week it was the arms. Those darn arms. As if it wasn't hard enough to do one, we had to do two. And they had to match. Perfectly.

I eventually gave up on mine after about an hour of sheer frustration and let my mom take over. She mastered them.
I got to work on the inner back of the chair -which is something I am much more used to working on - and by working on different pieces we made a lot of progress this class.

Remember, this is where we started a mere 2 months ago:

And here's our first  before and after comparison . . . .

I think it's coming along really well and the fabric choice has been good. It's a tough fabric to work with - the sheen of it and the fact that it's a thinner upholstery fabric make it difficult to work with and even out all those wrinkles.

We have just 4 classes left! We're on spring break this week but then it's back to work to ensure we get this girl home in time for summer.
